(21-27 November) Week 9

Week 9

This week I will blog about what I aimed and did in our ED201 course. My goal on the first day of the week was to discuss our final project with my group mates and to work on shaping our project. We aimed to work on it by discussing how to adapt the tools we learned earlier to our project.

In this context, we can create posters, presentations, etc. from the Canva application that we learned. We thought that we would be able to prepare visual materials such as, and, in addition, we could get feedback from a population that we would choose with a survey that we would create anonymously from the Google Surveys system. The first day of our lesson, Tuesday, passed like this in general.

On Wednesday of the same week, we broke new ground in the history of the society with the Outdoor Sports Society, of which I am the assistant manager of the board of directors, and we hosted the first speaker of an open session program called TEDU Outdoor Talks. It was very enjoyable for me to organize such an activity and to do this kind of work to improve myself outside of the classroom. Although it is a very specific subject, we have reached a good audience and we look forward to the continuation.

The second day of our lesson coincided with a very emotional and valuable day. Today was November 24, Teachers' Day. This day, which I am proud of as an education faculty student, was very meaningful for me. The teacher of our course, Assoc. Dr. Our teacher Tülin Haşlaman, as our school's Eduaction student society advisor, decided to visit our ancestor on this meaningful day and organized an event with her community. Although I could not attend due to a few special reasons, my friends and teachers visited Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in his presence. After the Anıtkabir visit to our beloved ancestor, the rest of the day consisted of different activities. I would like to congratulate my dear teacher candidate friends and teachers on November 24, Teachers' Day once again.

(14-20 November) Google Survey / Week 8

Using of Google Survey 

Hello, in this week's lesson, we learned how to use it in the final homework that we will prepare at the end of the semester and how to create a survey that is very beneficial for us in general. Our goal in this lesson was to use a tool called Google Survey. In our lesson, our teacher taught us to use this tool simultaneously. Now let's take a look at how we create a survey step by step:

First, we go to Google Drive and click on the using new tools tab. From here, we select the Google Survey section and go to the tab where we can easily edit our survey.

A page welcomes us as in the screenshot I attached. Here we set a title for the survey we will create. The first part after the title is an explanation and we can say that the verification phase of the survey is voluntary. Here, we should always state that the survey we create will be answered on a voluntary basis, its purpose, how many minutes it will take on average, and that personal data will remain confidential no matter what.

Anyone who passes this section by answering "Yes" will be entitled to access the questions in another section. If the answer is "No", the form will be automatically saved and sent. All of the settings I mentioned are made from the tab next to the answer options.

When we move to the section where we will add questions, we can see many kinds of question types. For example, we can use question types such as multiple choice, short-long answer, file upload, drop-down menu. Again, we can add a picture by pressing the cursor on the side of the question and if you do not want your questions to be answered, we can mark the "necessary" option.

( 7-13 November) Midterm Week / Week 7

Midterm Week

    This week was our first exam week for our ED 201 course. On the first day of our lesson, which was divided into two days of the week, the exam was held and we did not study. I will talk about how I prepared for the exam in my blog this week.

   

 In order to prepare for the exam, I first took a printout of the materials related to the lesson that our teacher had uploaded to the LMS system. I started by following the first subjects consisting of instructional technologies 1 and 2 from slides and taking notes on my computer. This process continued with me working on all the slides and taking notes respectively.

    After my note-taking process was completed, I again took advantage of the extra materials uploaded to the LMS system, completed the video and readings. This lesson was not only taught simultaneously from the classroom activities, but also from the Coursera program, which is an instructional web page.

    For this reason, after completing the slides and additional materials, I focused on the Coursera courses that I completed in the past weeks and mentioned on my blog. We were also responsible for the four-week training courses, Introduction to Learning, Design, and Technologies. Since I've already completed the videos, I just had to repeat and browse through the transcripts. After remembering the subject, I repeated the quiz questions and got ready for the exam.

    I took the exam completely with my preparations and had a good exam. I believe that I can get high grades and I have confidence in myself. :)

                                    

(31-06 October) Canva / Week 6

How can we use Canva Tool ?

In this week's lesson, our goal was to learn how to use the web tool called Canva effectively. In this context, our teacher asked us to complete the lesson called Get Started with Canva October in addition to the lesson from the web page called Coursera. First of all, I completed this video course process and reading texts and received my certificate about the use of Canva. Then I started working on it to better understand the Canva tool.

There are many product templates in the Canva tool that we can also design each part of. Examples of these are slide, photo collage, certificate, poster, invitation , wallpaper, etc. we can provide many products such as. Since I had experience before, I wanted to design something I had never done in order to improve myself even more, and I designed certificates.

You can see the certificate at the top as an example of the certificates I learned to design. Using Canvas, I have prepared a fictitious certificate for the community where I am the vice president at our university. In this context, various templates, plug-in components, fonts, etc. for us to make many more designs. We can find most things on this web tool.  Especially this tool that helps us design videos and slides will be very useful to us. I am committed to using this tool, which is free, except that some things such as templates, plugins, etc. are active with a premium membership.

In addition to the certificates I have designed, I am adding the certificate I received upon completion of my Coursera training below. We can see the differences between the design I have decked out and the official one and how much it actually allows us.
